PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Assist the sales & marketing team to identify business opportunities in the informal market to grow the business through SME development, business support, brand awareness and sales.
KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Financial Management
- Manage finances.
- Forecast cash flow and sales, as well as monitor your profit and loss.
- Have sound financial management skills to run a small business profitably.
- Work closely with the finance department.
2. Marketing, Sales and Customer Service
- Identify informal customers/vendors/participants to grow business.
- Promote company products effectively.
- Provide good customer service.
- Have a marketing strategy in place to generate sales.
3. Communication and Negotiation
- Communicate and negotiate with suppliers, customers and employees.
- Having effective written and verbal communication skills.
4. Leadership
- Leadership is a key skill.
- Must be able to motivate your suppliers/ staff in order to get the best out of them and improve productivity.
- Allocate time to mentor and coach your employees.
5. Project Management and Planning
- Manage a range of projects.
- Effectively manage resources, including time, money and staff to help achieve the company goals.
6. Delegation and Time Management
- Delegating business tasks to informal customers/ vendors.
- Managing time sheets of informal vendors weekly/ daily.
7. Problem Solving
- Daily problem solving with customers/vendors/ participants.
8. Networking
- Building good relationships through networking to grow the business.
9. Reporting
- Monthly report of project success and growth.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION
- Grade 12 (NQF4) with 2 years’ experience in Marketing.
- Valid Code B Driver’s licence.
- Knowledge of Microsoft suite -Advanced.
- Proficient in written and spoken English with Oshiwambo being considered as an added advantage.
- Namibian Citizen.
