Town Planner – CITY of WINDHOEK

Provide a quality town planning service to the City of Windhoek by facilitating and implementing the spatial development needs of the City in terms of growth, a supply of serviced erven and a quality urban environment for all residents.

• Provide professional town planning services to the Council for reserved and general work in order to guide development in terms of structure growth direction and policies for the land use and control.
• Assess and determine the urban development needs in the different land use categories in the City.
• Perform project management and coordination of town planning and upgrading projects.
• Promote and ensure compliance with Council and national legislation, policy, regulations and procedures on town planning and related urban management approaches.

Qulaification requirements:

A B or M Degree: Town and Regional Planning as promulgated by the NCTRP in terms of Act 9 of 19196.

Experience requirements:

Two (2) years experience as a Registered Town Planner in training (Town and Regional Planners Act. No.9 of 1996)

Legal requirements:

Code B/BE driver’s license

Legal requirements – Professional registration:

Registration as Town Planner with the Namibian Council of Town and Regional Planner

Salary: N$ 629,364. 00 pa

Housing Allowance: N$251,748 pa

Vehicle Allowance: N$214,752.00 pa
