MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To assist the managers with the coordination of Electrical Engineering activities concerned with design, construction, modification, and commissioning of the Heap Leach Plant’s Construction and Commissioning to ensure effective and efficient project implementation, adherence to standards and procedures, including compliance to SSHER requirements.
Key Performance Areas:
- Assist the technical manager in approving EPC design documents and handling design changes.
- Assist the quality manager in approving EPC quality documents and handling quality incidents.
- Be responsible for on-site electrical relevant installation coordination.
- Conduct daily inspections of the construction progress in each area, verify the on-site allocation of personnel, materials, and equipment by the EPC contractor and ensure that resources meet the progress requirements of the area.
- Assist the safety manager and quality manager in conducting regional special inspections, collect construction problems in the area, feed them back to the team, and promote timely resolution.
- Strictly enforce and control all Change Management activities.
- Ensure all As-Builts Drawings and all technical field related documents are received, archived, stored and available for future reference.
Requirements
Requirements and experience:
- B.Sc, B. Eng or BTech Electrical Engineering
- 5 years’ experience in a construction projects of which 2 years should have been in a Senior engineering capacity.
- Mining / Processing / Large Scale Construction Project experience will be a distinct advantage.
- Good track record of contract & contractor coordination
- Experience in risk management and compliance with engineering codes.
- Proficiency in electrical engineering software (AutoCAD or equivalent)
- Registration with Engineering Council of Namibia or equivalent professional body will be an added advantage.
- Valid Code B/BE Driver’s License.
