PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT
RECRUITMENT INTO THE NAMIBIAN DEFENCE FORCE

The Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs is inviting aspiring young Namibians to apply for career opportunities in the Namibian Defence Force.

Eligible candidates should meet the following requirements to join the NDF:

A. Recruits:

1. Age between 18–30 years on or before 21 November 2025.

2. He/she to have obtained Grade 12 Certificate with 25 points in five (5) subjects with a ‘F’ symbol in English or Grade 11 Certificate with a minimum of 25 points in five (5) subjects with a ‘E’ symbol in English or Grade 10 Certificate old curriculum with minimum 25 points in seven (7) subjects with ‘E’ symbol in English. Candidates with music qualification or knowledge such as Flute, Clarinetist, Trumpeter, Saxophonist, Euphonium, Trombonist, Bass and Drummers will serve as added advantage.

B. Officer Cadets:

1. Age between 18–25 years on or before 21 November 2025.

2. He/she to have obtained at least Grade 11 or Grade 12 Certificate with a minimum of 27 points in five (5) subjects with a ‘C’ symbol in English.

3. Candidates with Degree will serve as added advantage.

4. To undergo Psychometric Test.

C. Take Note all applicants be it Recruits and Officer Cadets:

5. He / she must be Namibian citizen and should not have tattoos.

6. He/she must have no criminal record and pending cases.

7. Ready to undergo a comprehensive medical check-up.

8. Pass Basic General Knowledge and English Language Tests.

9. Pass Physical Fitness Test that includes:
   a) Complete a 2.4 Km Run males within 13 mins or less and for females within 14 mins and 30 secs or less.
   b) Perform Sit-Ups, males 43 ups or more and females 25 ups or more.
   c) Perform Push-Ups, males 30 ups or more and females 30 ups or more.

10. Should meet the following Body Mass and Height Requirements:
    a) Males 1.65m to 200 cm max; 47 kg to 96 kg.
    b) Females 1.57 cm to 183 cm max; 55 kg to 81 kg.

11. Be a certified copies of Namibian Identity Card and Full Birth Certificate.

12. Two passport photos.

13. Indicate shoe size at top right side on the first page of the Public Service of Namibia Application Form for Employment.

14. Attach certified (each year) colour passport photos on top of the first page.

15. Candidates to complete only one application form should affix recent passport photo. Candidate cannot apply for both recruits and officer cadets.

16. All applications including Marginalised Communities should indicate their constituencies on the form and be stamped with official stamp of the Regional Councillor and submitted at the Constituency Office in the same area.

17. Marginalised Communities should submit their applications to the Office of the Presidency (Executive Director Mr. Mateus Kashindi, Office No. 136, Tel: 061 292 2007).

18. Attach a copy of the acknowledgment receipt at the bottom of the application form as proof of submission. Applications without the proof of submission will not be considered.

19. Only shortlisted candidates will be communicated with and as directed in this advertisement. Application submitted through Regional Councillors, Regional Governors should be submitted and handed in at the Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs HQ Reception, Ground Floor.

20. Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and those not contacted will be returned.

21. No Councillor, Governor or Staff Members of the Constituency Office should in any way canvass candidates. Any candidate(s) not assisted through the Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs should be removed from the number provided below.
