Purpose of the Job
To support safe and efficient loading and hauling operations through effective planning, equipment utilisation and operational coordination. The role is responsible for improving productivity, managing haul road and stockpile operations, and supporting the achievement of production targets.
Key Performance Areas
- Oversee loading and hauling operations to ensure safe and efficient production.
- Monitor equipment utilisation and support shift time optimisation.
- Manage haul roads, stockpiles and dumping activities to support operational efficiency.
- Conduct mining data analysis and prepare operational reports.
- Identify, test and implement continuous improvement initiatives within mining operations.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety and operational standards.
- Support employee performance management and operational coordination.
- Carry out operational and administrative duties related to mining production activities.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
- B.Sc. / B.Eng Degree in Mining Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in open pit mining (mining load and haul operations experience advantageous)
- Experience in operational data analysis and reporting will be advantageous
- Strong understanding of loading and hauling performance factors, as well as an understanding of mining health and safety requirements
- Good analytical and reporting abilities and strong communication and people management skills
- Valid Code of Conduct (minimum 6 months old)
- A valid Code B driver’s license
