    position at Namib Mills (Pty) Ltd in Windhoek.

    PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    The primary function of this post is to maintain, integrate and develop systems for Namib Mills to fulfill the company’s growing needs. Main systems in use are Accpac, RMS and MeatMatrix running on Microsoft SQL. Testing both hardware and software systems and to find and resolve problems.

    KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Confirm project requirements by reviewing objectives, input data and output requirements.
    • Liaising with colleagues such as systems analysts and designers.
    • Writing software and operating manuals.
    • Confirming Program operations by conducting tests.
    • Presenting and testing system improvements.
    • Ensure the highest uptime possible of services.
    • Liaising with managers and department heads to fulfill needs.
    • Assist the IT team where required.
    • Train new users where required.
    • Provide training and assistance to Junior Developers.
    • Manage projects and keep to deadlines.
    • Take ownership of the administration of Microsoft SharePoint.
    • Escalating issues to proper channels and provide innovative solutions to business challenges.
    • Assist with any ad hoc functions/projects as prescribed by Supervisor/Manager.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION

    • Grade 12 (NQF4) and relevant programming, MS SQL & Csharp qualification(s).
    • Five (5) years relevant working experience.
    • Software development experience is required.
    • Experience on Microsoft SharePoint will be an advantage.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
    • Proficient in written and spoken English.
    • Valid Driver’s License.
    • Namibian citizen.
