Senior Technician: Maintenance – SWAKOP URANIUM

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To identify and implement opportunities to improve equipment reliability through failure analysis, data collection, and identification of changes to maintenance, operations, purchasing, and design practices.

Key Performance Areas:

• Implement reliability practices and objectives for improving equipment and process reliability.
• Plan, review and report on Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) actions on the mine.
• Monitor and quantify reliability cost savings.
• Track all reliability projects and report as scheduled.
• Draw up and implement RCM implementation plans with objectives.
• Investigate and implement enhancements to the reliability centered maintenance records.
• Participate in audit programmes to assess the effectiveness of reliability centered maintenance applications and records.
• Utilise Root cause analysis (RCA) effectively in the implementation of predictive and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Practice field compliance checks on area register of RCM/RCA objectives and tasks.
• Identify production losses and abnormally high maintenance cost with assets.
• Apply data analysis techniques, root cause analysis (RCA), root cause failure analysis (RCFA), failure reporting.
• Provide technical advice and support to production, maintenance management and technical personnel on the implementation of maintenance objectives, task lists and action plans.
• Apply value analysis to repair / replace, repair / redesign and support purchase decisions.
• Apply high level quality control on repairs.

Requirements and experience:

• Grade 12 or current NSSCO with 20 points over 5 subjects.
• National Technical Diploma (N6) or an equivalent qualification with a National Vocational Trade Certificate Level 3 in a relevant Mechanical/Electrical Technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years post trade experience in an engineering environment.
• Experience in the application of RCM/RCS/FMEA analysis.
• OEM Equipment Management Systems (ET, VIMS, KOMTRAX, etc)
• SAP PM.
• Data evaluation and statistics experience.
• Code B or BE/ CE Driver’s License.
