Senior Operator: Plant (Field) – SWAKOP URANIUM

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Responsible for the efficient operations of the Field area by performing lockouts, isolation and complete clearance permits.

Key Performance Areas:

• Carry out plant inspections as set out in the operating procedures.
• Perform start-up and shutdown in area of responsibility in the plant.
• Ensure safe operation of plant and equipment.
• Continually monitor all process operational levels, flow rates and feed rates information displayed on the control system and initiate any remedial action required to achieve the set production targets.
• Diagnose faults in the plant by assessing control system information displayed, visual inspections and reports received from plant personnel and take the appropriate action to minimise delays.
• Optimise plant throughput by entering data into the system to adjust operating parameters.
• Respond to abnormal or emergency plant conditions.
• Comply with and enforce all plant operating, safety standards and procedures.
• Inspect plant equipment conditions and report any abnormalities.
• Inspect and clean equipment as per schedule.
• Ensure that all job requests are generated and loaded on SAP system for equipment repairs.

Requirements and experience:

• Grade 12 or current NSSCO with 20 points over 5 subjects.
• A degree in a relevant field.
• 3 years’ working experience in a Processing Plant.
• Competency and Technical knowledge of plant operational processes and procedures.
• Valid Code B/BE Driver’s License.
