    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

    To promote positive employee-employer relationships and ensure a harmonious and productive work environment within the organization. They serve as a mediator, advocate, and facilitator, addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and supporting a culture of fairness, compliance, and effective communication.

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

    • Bachelor’s degree in industrial psychology or human resources with a specialization in Labour Relations
    • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in Employee/Industrial Relations
    • Sound knowledge of Namibian labor legislation including Affirmative Action.
    • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
    • Valid driver’s license

    KEY ACOUNTABILITIES:

    • Mediate and resolve workplace conflicts, ensuring impartial and constructive outcomes.
    • Lead and facilitate annual wage negotiations.
    • Promote open communication between employees and leadership to foster a culture of trust and collaboration – this includes leading different communication platforms like the Prosperity meetings with the Workers Council.
    • Lead and facilitate activities in line with compliance to the Affirmative Act which activities include compilation and submission of the annual Affirmative Action Report.
    • Ensure employee awareness and adherence to company policies, procedures, and relevant labor laws.
    • Deliver training on ER topics, including chairing and initiating disciplinary hearings.
    • Provide expert guidance on the disciplinary process to all parties involved.
    • Maintain compliance with Namibian labor laws and company policies during all ER processes.
    • Accurately document proceedings, decisions, and supporting evidence during hearings.
    • Support implementation and communication of ER-related policies and procedures across departments.
