Purpose of the Job
To operate haul trucks in a safe, efficient and productive manner to support mining operations and achieve production targets. The role involves hauling ore material to designated stockpiles and crushers while maintaining compliance with operational and environmental standards.
Key Performance Areas
- Operate haul trucks safely and efficiently within the pit operations.
- Transport ore material to stockpiles and crusher areas as instructed.
- Adhere to operational procedures, safety standards and environmental requirements.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections and report any defects or unsafe conditions.
- Maintain effective communication with supervisors and operational teams.
- Follow fatigue management and site safety protocols at all times.
- Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained on equipment and in work areas.
- Support production targets through safe and responsible equipment operation.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12 certificate
- Valid Code B driver’s license held for a minimum of 2 years
- Valid Code of Conduct
Experience
- No prior experience required
- Entry-level / novice candidates are encouraged to apply
- Competency certification on HMVs Cat 777/785, Terex TR100 or Komatsu 830, 900 & 930 will be an added advantage
Knowledge and Skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Ability to work in a mining environment and follow operational instructions
- Willingness to learn and develop operational skills
