Distribution Manager – Distribution Centre, Hardap
The purpose of the position is to oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring efficient receipt, storage and dispatching of the Agrimark product range. The successful candidate should possess strong leadership capabilities with deep expertise in logistics management to drive operational excellence of the Distribution Centre.
Key responsibilities include:
• Oversee end-to-end logistics operations including inbound and outbound freight, inventory control, and order fulfilment.
• Develop and implement logistics strategies to reduce lead times, minimise costs, and improve service delivery performance.
• Ensure all warehouse processes comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and industry best practices.
• Manage warehouse layout and space utilisation to maximise storage capacity and operational efficiency.
• Oversee returns management and reverse logistics processes.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular cycle counts and annual stock audits.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a high-performing warehouse team
• Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including OSHA, local labour laws, and import/export regulations.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement (CI) initiatives
• Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, sales, and finance teams to align warehouse activities with business objectives.
• Ad hoc and various tasks in line with the scope and duties of this position
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
• At least 5 years experience in related field.
• Experience with working on Inventory Management Systems.
• Specific industry knowledge of farming equipment and agricultural products would be an added advantage.
• Knowledge and understanding of the needs of agricultural producers.
• Good presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Proven computer skills with an excellent command of written and spoken English and Afrikaans.
• Attention to detail, a reliable and accurate person, able to work independently.
• Valid drivers license and forklift license.
• Namibian citizenship with a friendly disposition and ability to function well under pressure.
