Chief Engineer – CITY of WINDHOEK

Manage the Bulk Water and Wastewater Division/Manage production and supply of portable water, the collection and treatment of all wastewater services of the City of Windhoek and the production and distribution of irrigation water to the city. Manage the provision of santitation services to informal settlements. Investigate and research on the matters related to this field and advice internal and external stakeholders.

• Manage the Division & job activities of the staff members in the division, Human Resources Management.
• Manage, operate and maintain the infrastructure and function of Treatment and supply of Potable water.
• Manage, operate and maintain the infrastructure and function of Collection and Treatment of Wastewater.
• Manage, operate and maintain the infrastructure and function of treatment and distribution of irrigation water.
• Keep up-to-date with development in water and wastewater fields, and avdvise other Local Authorities and partake in activities of water organizations.
• Plan, implement and manage the sustainable utilisation priciples of Bulk Water resources in accordance with the International Water Management Standards, the Water Resource Management Act (Act 11 of 2013) and Water Supply Regulations (No.1463, 16 December 1996)

• B.Sc Eng./B Eng. Degree in Civil/Mechanical

Experience required:

•  Ten (10) Years experience after registration as Professional Engineer in Water Engineering/Hydraulics/Contract Management/Contract Law/Water/Wastewtaer Operations & maintenance.

Legal requirements:

• Valid driver’s license.

Registration status:

• Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of Namibia

Pre-appointment training as an added advantage:

• Management Dvelopment Program, Intergrated Water resources Management, Applied Hydraulics, Water & Wastewater Treatment.

Salary: N$1,027,764.00 pa

Housing Allowance: N$411,108.00 pa

Car Allowance: N$261,528.00.00 pa
