Purpose of the Job
To install, maintain, diagnose, and repair electrical and electronic systems in vehicles.
Modern vehicles rely heavily on electrical components, so this role is crucial to ensure
they operate safely and efficiently.
Key Performance Areas
- Perform daily inspections as per pre-set standards.
- Ensure that the correct tools are available and used for repair and maintenance work.
- Ensure that auto electrical equipment and installations meet the required designs, installation, and maintenance standards.
- Attend to breakdowns out in the field when required.
- Provide advice to the Supervisor for optimization potential of machinery functioning.
- Ensure work area is maintained according to correct housekeeping and environmental procedures.
- Ensure that a clear hand-over is completed with cross-shift.
- Identify and communicate possible hazards and risks.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12 certificate with 24 points in 6 subjects.
- Trade Certificate N3.
- Valid Code BE driver’s license.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ maintenance experience in the field of auto-electrical on heavy earth moving equipment and light vehicles.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Planning and organizing skills.
- Ability to comply with company safety standards.
