Engineer: Protection Setting & Planning – CITY of WINDHOEK

Responsible for the management and engineering of Network Protection Setting and Planning and ensuring of a reliable protection system for the 11kV distribution network of the City of Windhoek.

• Responsible for Protection Settings management functions.
• Carry out system settings upgrades, testing, recommissioning and confirmating grading.
• Carry out Power Systems Studies and post fault analyses in order to provide remedieal action and improve the effectiveness of the protection system.
• Analyse field data and initiate approriate planning action.
• Compile and manage annual sub-sectional budgets.
• Manage general and safety tasks and responsibilities.
• Perform Planning and administrative duties.

Qualification requirement:

Bachelors of Science Degree: Electrical Engineering or Bachelors of Technology Degree in Electrical Engineering

Experience requirement:

Five (5) years experience as a Professional Engineer/six (6) year experience as an Incorporated Engineer specialized field of substation, network studies, high and medium voltage, protection on LV/MV/HV system.

Legal Requirement:

Code B/BE driver’s license

Professional status:

Registartion as an Incorporated Engineer or Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of Namibia.

Annual Salary: N$629,364 pa

Housing Allowance: N$251,748 pa

Car Allowance: N$214,752 pa
