Description
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To maintain the Plant Process Control System for maximum availability and productive Process Control. This includes the maintenance activities for the Process network and equipment connected to this Network, as well as the maintenance of all process changes as described in Process change requests.
Key Performance Areas:
- Conduct critical safety interlocks on equipment and ensure all documentation for interlock testing is done and signed off.
- Ensure that a detailed commissioning is done on all changes that are done in accordance with procedure.
- Comply with Site Programming standards and update all documentation.
- Liaise with all relevant stakeholders to ensure good process control standards and system quality.
- Update Anti-Virus programmes to secure process network and manage all network connectivity to ensure security principles are followed.
- Ensure all redundant equipment is available for failover and also do regular tests to ensure uptime on process control system.
- Ensure data that is used for production reporting is available and correct.
- Conduct regular audits and version control on software and hardware.
- Prepare technical specifications for repair and installation projects.
- Attend to compliance issues experienced and take appropriate action.
- Comply with relevant policies, practices and procedures related to mine safety and operations of a Processing Plant.
Requirements
Requirements and experience:
- Grade 12 with 20 points over 5 subjects.
- National Technical Diploma (N6) or an equivalent qualification with a National Vocational Trade Certificate Level 3 in Instrumentation/Electrical light current.
- Minimum 3 years post apprenticeship experience in an engineering environment.
- Advanced Experience on PLC software and hardware configurations on SCADA system and networks.
- Valid Code B/BE Driver’s License.
