Water/Diesel Bowser Operators Required

Purpose of the Job
The Bowser Operator will operate fuel and/or water bowser equipment and vehicles to supply diesel or water to a fleet of mining equipment including drill rigs, excavators, dozers, and trucks. The role also involves watering haul roads for construction and dust suppression.
Key Performance Areas
- Fuel Distribution: Refuel machines such as excavators, generators, pumps, and lighting plants directly at their work locations.
- Safety & Inspections: Conduct pre-start safety checks, perform continuous risk assessments, and ensure compliance with health and safety protocols.
- Inventory & Logging: Monitor fuel levels, record diesel dispensed to each machine, and maintain accurate vehicle movement logs.
- Housekeeping: Clean vehicle cabins and equipment regularly to maintain a safe and professional working environment.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 10 or Grade 12 National Certificate
- Code C driver’s license or higher (compulsory)
- Hazchem Certificate for transporting dangerous goods
Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience operating diesel/water or Code C licensed trucks in opencast mining or construction
Knowledge and Skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to perform pre-start checks
- General open-pit mining knowledge
- Safe driving and accurate record-keeping
