Primary Purpose of the Position
To transport shipments to major NamPost centres throughout the country.
Main Responsibilities
- Load receiving and pick-ups (including sealed bulk)
- Load controls (including sealed bulk)
- Driving and vehicle control
- Load equipment operating and control
- Load deliveries and off-loads (including sealed bulk)
- Administration compliance
- Problem-solving effectiveness
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Grade 12
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the line haul transport industry
Skills and Knowledge Requirements
- Sound knowledge of line haul, loading, transport and off-loading procedures
- Courteous communication skills
- Bilingual (English required) with good reading and writing ability
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Ability to work long hours
- Operation of truck-mounted loading equipment (Skyjack) and warehouse scanning equipment
- Arithmetical skills
- Forklift Operator License and Skyjack License (valid annual renewal required)
- Compliance with safety legislation requirements
Other Requirements
- Defensive Driving Training Certificate
Legal Requirement
- Minimum Code CE driver’s license with valid GP
